West Turtle Bay - 4/12/07
Noon on Thursday, April 12, Rob Santry and I spent photographing at West Turtle Bay in Redding. The goal was to get pictures of Beaverpond Baskettail. But, while some landed in good poses, they didn't allow close approach. So, it was a rather slow day with the camera.

Young female Beaverpond Baskettail. This was an approach shot, taken from further back and cropped rather heavily. I was unable to get closer without them (there were two patrolling in this spot) flying off. |

Lorquin's Admiral. The males will patrol an area and land frequently. This individual was quite tame. |
