Stillwater Creek - Part 1, Shasta County, 7/12/06
George Sappington and I checked out Stillwater Creek by Shasta College (at the intersection of Hwy 299 and Stillwater Creek just northeast of Redding). George got me some great poses. In particular, he found the Gray Sanddragons in wheel, the female Western Pondhawk eating a Sooty Dancer, and a couple of the male Gray Sanddragon poses.

Probably a Northern/Boreal Bluet, but the appendages and amount of black suggest Alkali Bluet. But this would be unusual for this location, I think. |

I photographed a number of dancers of the California/Aztec type. |
