Stillwater Creek, Shasta County, 7/13/06

I went back to Stillwater Creek to try and get better pictures of the "mystery" bluet and ended up getting White-belted Ringtail, too (which I had missed yesterday).

What kind of bluet is this? More black than blue on most segments, yet a long lower appendage reminiscent of Norther/Boreal. Is this Alkali Bluet; is there enough information here to tell?

Sooty Dancers in tandem. Stillwater Creek is crawling with these guys, many of them mating and ovipositing.
