Lassen Volcanic National Park, Shasta County, 7/15/06

My son, Steven, Rick Somers, and I hiked a portion of the Emigrant Trail in Lassen Park. I took the camera along but didn't get many opportunities to photograph. Here are a few shots.

Male Striped Meadowhawk, young individual. Saw about a dozen Stripeds along the hike, none of the males had turned red yet, though this one is starting to.

Same individual, notice the "mote" in his eye.
